In the last five years, circumstances around internet security have changed dramatically. The malware writers who claimed their existence by causing social chaos were confined to the distant past. Instead of crimes for pleasure, we are facing criminals who have an obvious reason and target for a living. They use malware as a tool to steal personal information and bank account information. Also malware has been developed as effective weapons to take out social foundation and infrastructures. These are the crimes which we must act against throughout the entire society.

Therefore the approach to information security become one of the measures to value the company. Social Networking sites which become one of the fastest growing businesses attract malware writers in order to get personal account data. Notorious Fake Antivirus (Rogue Antivirus / Scareware) looks very professional, sometimes more professional than the real Antivirus. This is increasing in a surprising rate. Also mobile device such as Blackberry, IPhone, Symbian, Windows Mobile and Android get their momentum and starting to attract cyber criminal and malware writers.

This conference aim is to inform the IT Security Community about the latest trends and potential threats in the security arena and what precautions needs to be taken in order to minimize potential losses.

AVAR2010 Conference highlights paper presentations. A Call for Papers announcement will be made and circulated around in industry and AVAR mailing lists as well as placed on the AVAR2010 Conference website. Abstracts from potential speakers are received from anti-malware professionals and IT security experts from all over the world. The abstracts are reviewed and the program committee and the program chair select the relevant papers for presentation at the conference.

Social Program Conference provides lots of opportunity to all the delegates for social networking during the conference. Seated lunches and coffee breaks give good opportunity for delegates to get in touch with other contacts and make new contacts. Also a day before the conference all the delegates and speakers are invited for an informal welcome drinks reception. Apart from this, there is the traditional gala dinner and cultural entertainment program on the evening of the first conference day.
