Most overseas delegates will need a visa to enter Australia. Many will be
able to obtain an 'electronic travel authority' online from: http://www.immi.gov.au/eta/

If required, the conference organisers can provide a letter of invitation.
You will need to register first.

If you are an international visitor and are planning to travel in Australia
before or after the Conference you are able to incorporate the internal Australian
air sectors in your international ticket purchased before leaving home. Often
this will provide significant discounts on the internal air component than
can be obtained after arrival in Australia.
Domestic Air Travel
Australia has two major domestic airlines – Qantas and Virgin Blue.
There are many other regional airlines.

Travel Insurance
It is strongly recommended that delegates take out adequate travel and health
insurance before commencement of travel. Further information can be obtained
from your travel agent.
Getting from the Airport to your hotel
TAXIS
Taxi ranks are located at all major air terminals. The fare to the conference
hotel in the city is approximately AU$25 - 30. All taxis are licenced by
the government and have meters.
BUSES
Information can be obtained online about the Airport
Express. These buses are
operated by the state government between the airport and the city. When in
Sydney you can also call 131500 for bus and train information.
The Kingsford Smith Transport Airporter operates minibuses that run regularly
every 20 – 30minutes to all central hotels. The buses are easy to locate
at both the international and domestic terminals. They depart from the first
bus stop outside both terminals. The fare is AU$8 one-way or AU$13 return.
You will need to phone 9666 9988 24 hrs before the return journey in order
to arrange a pick-up time and place. Each passenger is permitted two pieces
of luggage. If you have more luggage a charge of AU$5 per extra piece will
be charged.
The Airport
Sydney Shuttle is available by telephoning. 9667 0477 or 9661
1170. They provide a door-to-door service. You will need to call them to book
this service and they will collect you within 10 minutes. There is no extra
charge for additional pieces of luggage.
Airport transfers are also provided by Brunel Chauffeured Limousines service
9667 4159 which costs approximately AU$70.
AIRPORT RAIL LINK
Sydney's Airport Rail Link is the fastest and easiest way to get to and from
Sydney Airport. It directly links the airport to the centre of Sydney with
connections to all suburban stations. Tickets can be purchased to and from
all train stations in the CityRail network at a cost of AU$11. There is a
direct link from the airport to Central, Museum, St James, Circular Quay,
Wynyard and Town Hall stations in the centre of Sydney. You will need to
get to Wynyard Station or Martin Place station if you are staying at the
Westin Hotel.
All services FROM Sydney Airport arrive at Central’s Platform 21 before
continuing to the City Circle. A lift is available at the city end (front of
train) of the platform to assist passengers with luggage.
All services TO Sydney Airport depart from Platform 23 at Central Station.
Lifts are available at the city end of the platform to assist passengers with
luggage.
There is a direct service TO the airport for passengers travelling on the
City Circle and East Hills Lines.
