This year, the AVAR International Conference will be hosted in Tokyo, Japan.
Information security measures by the Cabinet Secretariat and governmental
departments, status reports pertaining to countermeasures against viruses
by Japan (IPA: Information-Technology Promotion Agency, Japan), Korea (KISA:
Korea Information Security Agency) and China (National Computer Virus Emergency
Response Center) as well as latest research results by anti-virus specialists
from the world will be presented in English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese
by simultaneous interpretations.
Virus/worm damage is getting bad to worse along with prevalence of broadband
and risk is substantially changed from simple file crash to information
leakage of corporative secrets or private information. To manage the risk,
antivirus/worm engineering must go hand-in-hand with network security.
The theme for the conference is “Eutaxy or Chaos? Network Security: Present
and Future”. The conference will covers not only virus/worm but also wide
range of network
security. It is my pleasure to hosting such rare opportunity to study information
security of the latest status, countermeasures and practices gathered from
domestic and international in one place.
