Abstract:
Since 1988, wireless internet in Korea has been growing at an astounding
rate. MIC, the Ministry of Information and Communication made WIPI as the
standard platform, which will be mandated in January 2005. With the wired-wireless
combined network, the closed wireless structure became open, resulting
in high usability and broader service for wireless internet. This kind
of growth contributes greatly to the enhancement of wireless service, but
at the same time, it poses the advent of mobile malicious code. In this
presentation, letfs take a look at the wireless internet environment in
Korea, and some simulated potential threats.
